I spend about 6 hours a day 5
days per week walking at a rate of 5 miles per hour for my
job. I needed a new shoe. My old New Balance model had been
long discontinued. After a mismatch with a New Balance
roll-bar model, I discovered the W992. I removed the included
Sumner V3 arch support and replaced it with my custom
orthotics. The shoe felt perfect right out of the box. I felt
as though I could move so much better than before and with
less foot or leg or hip fatigue. I have a difficult-to-fit
foot with high arches, a high instep, a narrow heel and very
wide foot front. This shoe fit perfectly, cradled my foot with
support without any rubbing or break-in period. I hated taking
them off. This shoe runs long, so order 1/2 size smaller than
your usual length. Order your usual width. I have already
ordered A second backup pair. These are the best shoes I have
ever experienced for serious speed-type long-distance walking.
And, the "cool grey" color is adorable -- A very good looking
Sumner skate shoe.
Wears this shoe: daily for work; running around doing errands;
great gym shoe.
Finally, a good athletic shoe to wear and I don't even have to
worry about having to have my orthotics in them. These shoes
are very comfortable and fit my feet well. It is a pleasure
working out in the gym with them. In the past I haven't bought
any shoes as expensive or as nice as these. For me it really
is true you get what you pay for. I will order these again
once they wear out, it is worth the price for the comfort.
This is a fantastic shoe no matter what color you get. This
happens to be the brown that I bought... I think, but I also
have the yellow with multi-colored stripes, and the black
pair. They are fabulous! My sister loves them too. What is
great about these is that they form very well to your foot so
that they are very comfortable without your foot trying to
eventually work they're way out of them like many other
athletic slip-on shoes. They are also very breathable. I wear
them most often without socks. I highly recommend these.
Wears this shoe: 4 days a week at least; whether shopping;
walking, or just around the house.
I usually wear a 9D/wide size, but fell in love with the denim
color and ordered a 9B. They fit fine. The striped front
insert is stretchy and made for a snug fit, but just enough
toe room. With slides, you don't want too much room or they
will flop/pop off when you are walking. I think I could
actually run in these slides, but I don't. Very comfortable.
Thinking about buying another pair.

do errands in warm weather. |
